Edifice of Trust Podcast

Jun 5, 2020

The protests in the aftermath of the George Floyd murder by a Minneapolis cop have continued for many days and have often descended into looting, arson and murder. The peaceful protestors are demanding justice and the end to systemic racism in police departments across the country. But are the charges true? Is there systemic racism in our police force that has resulted in many killings of unarmed black men at the hands of white cops? In this episode, the Edifice of Trust host, Victor Bolles, discusses scientific evidence that indicates these charges are overblown and that the institutions in our society have been making incremental progress in reducing racism. He also looks at one of the demands of protestors to defund police departments that is a bad idea.
